What to say about me?...Well, when I have the time and an idea running around in my head, I like to make jewellery.  I'm hoping at some point to start selling the things that I make, but at the moment am trying to build a collection.  I love purple, find green and blue soothing, like some shades of red and dislike really girly pinks.  I was more of a tomboy until I got sick and now all I keep thinking about is purple high heels or just high heels in general - never used to be a fan as I always liked my height or lack thereof.

I am a mother of a teenage a daughter and all that entails and a nearly teenage son.  I'm trying desparately to let my kids find their own ways of dealing with the frustrations and disppointments of life and friends - but it's really hard when they come home crying and you know that you can't smack the crap out of the other kid no matter how much you want to.

Luckily, I am still in a committed relationship with their father after nearly fifteen years - I'm glad that I don't live in Hollywood where it seems to be the done thing to change relationships as often as hairstyles.

I love a good laugh - whether at myself or someone else and enjoy the little bubbles of time when the world seems to be perfect - even for five seconds.  I learnt to appreciate and cherish the good times when they happen when I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2006.  That was a not so fun journey that unfortunately I took the family on.  They have come out of it stronger little people who take all the enjoyment they can with people who appreciate them.

Hopefully, my fellow hubbers will enjoy the hubs that I post and provide me with feedback and comments.  I think that sometimes a passing comment from a stranger can give you greater insight.  I welcome all constructive criticism of my work as it will help me to grow and hopefully build a great following.
