RAW seed bead ring

I always wanted a handmade ring that didn't have any metal in it.

I made this ring - which I'm sure by now comes as no surprise to my followers - one Saturday afternoon. It shouldn't have taken all afternoon, but with kids timing needs to be flexible. Anyway, I was sitting with my partner and playing with my beads. I kept threading and rethreading different beads using Right Angle Weave.

This ring is a combination of hematite and what's supposed to be turquoise - I think that it's dyed howlite, but am not 100% on that, the bottle said turquoise, so that's what I'm going with.

As you can see from my lovely hand model - not me, by the way - it consists of one row of RAW that rejoins itself to form a ring. It's not that heavy to wear because of the small size of the beads. And while it looks like it would be bulky between the fingers, actually isn't.

When I finished making this ring, my partner attempted to try it on, but couldn't even get it to fit his little finger - the joy of loving someone with small hands...

Anyway, because it didn't fit so he couldn't lay claim to it, I had to make him one...I know like how put upon am I??? I made his so that it fit perfectly. As I was making it, I would wrap it around his finger to see how many more beads would be needed. I also made his in the same colours, but reverse order. Where mine is a row of hematite at the top and bottom, his is turquoise.

I was always trying to figure out what to do with all the small (2mm/4mm) semi-precious beads that I had floating around. Well this is my solution.
